My lightbulb went out in my son room and I the hallway. Each bowl in the ceiling has 2 lightbulb a in it. My wife went to sams and bought the 72w 100w. The other option was 43w 60w. The ones we had when we bought the house said 60w 120v. I went to walmart sams and all other places and none of them had 60w 120v. I noticed in my son room and the hallway say max 60w higher watt is fire hazard. Since my wife bought the 72w 100w is it ok to use them or should I take them back and get the 43w 60w. Also these new bulbs have watts for both numbers when before it was watt and volt. I'm so confused with this crap

All that means is that the 43w takes the place of the 60w bulb and the 72w takes the place of the 100w.

They are still 120v bulbs.

I feel like we are going to answer the age old question of how many Cajuns it takes to change a light bulb in this thread.

Just top off your own blinker fluid and leave anything more complex to the professionals.

If it was a light bulb in the oven, then you'd need a 220 volt bulb.

I'm just so used to always buying 60w 120v now it don't even say that anymore and when it says max 60w anything higher is a fire hazard in the house I put in a 100w I was just wondering is it ok to still use it or take it back for the 60w for safety reason.

While it is not relevant to the light bulb question, watts divided by volts = amps.

This can explain why your blow dryer sometimes blows the breaker when your curling iron and tampon warmer are still on.

Kidding. The bulbs are fine.
