Interesting for the corner market and Revis

quote:

The Boston Herald reports the Patriots are allowing CB Brandon Browner to "explore his value around the league." Monday is the deadline for the Pats to exercise Browner's $1.9 million team option. If they do, Browner then takes home a $2 million roster bonus on Tuesday. He'd come with a $4.8 million cap number for 2015, something the Pats want to reduce. It sounds like they'll cut him loose absent a reduction. Cutting Browner would be a sign the Pats are planning for Darrelle Revis to return for a second season in New England.

I'd imagine he'd have a pretty good market if this happens

Certainly not a necessity player but it creates a need for a #2 corner and makes the Pats a little less flexible in matching up against other teams in the league

Butler, Logan Ryan, and Dennard are all capable of filling this role.

I like Browner a lot, but lets not pretend he's better than Revis.

I don't think anyone is doing this

Dennard can't handle bigger WRs, and will be cut

Don't really trust Ryan or butler either. Need a press corner in that role

I wonder if it's possible he lands back in Seattle...

Byron Maxwell is gone and their nickel cornerback (forgot his name) had that gruesome arm injury in the Super Bowl. He may not be ready for the beginning of the season.

Browner is a chess piece, and is an insanely unique corner. I don't think there are many corners in the league that can handle the bigger WRs, but one of them is Revis. This will just dictate a little more who Revis is left to handle.

I think both Butler and Ryan are capable of playing press-man (though Ryan is very much more suited to a zone type defense). Dennard is also very good at shadowing normal NFL receivers. He has shown that elite bigger WRs can torch him, but outside of like 5 CBs, that is a normal thing.

The corner market got neutered before they got a chance to blossom besides Maxwell

I think hell get some solid money out of seattles range now that he's not facing as much uncertainty that he was last season

I understand the move and the thought, I would just rather have him than not

Hope the Fins take a look. And yes, they'd still have money for him.

Yeah, that's him.

I also haven't seen much from Tharold Simon so I don't know where he stands with the team.

If you listen real close you can still hear his ankles getting broken by Edleman on the goalline in the Super Bowl

People are easy to afford when you don't have to spend money on all those rings.

Curran is tweeting he doesn't think it'll happen

He actually accidentally called the reporter from the globe a "smooth brain"

@MarkDanielsPJ: At $4.8 million, Brandon Browner seems like a great deal compared to guys like Kareem Jackson, Brandon Flowers and Byron Maxwell

Dwayne Bowe followed the patriots official account on twitter and then quickly unfollowed after someone noticed it

He's welcome back in Calgary any time he wants. I usually pull for him wherever he goes.
