I just read up on the wiki and it's saying they are still considering it part of FNC

but that's what is so perplexing to me: FFXIII reeked of mass consumer appeal. are the type 0, "-2" and online games now reserved for the hardcore and the main titles scaled down for mass appeal?

I could see how you think this. Type-0 never got a western release. -2 and -3 were shitty sequels off the main XIII game and took way less effort than making a new game, they had the engine, the characters, and the basic story, look at it as a cheap way to make a dollar, because people still buy anything with FF attached to it.

I played only an hour of Type-0 on a PSP emulator and, it looks like it's going to be an epic game, with themes and visuals not usually associated with FF. There is over the top violence and tons of blood in this game, there has never been blood in a FF game.

My hope is this. Type-0 with strong sales becomes an entirely different series (maybe even not a part of FF) It would be more mature and let SqaureEnix do some stuff theme-wise they aren't comfortable doing in the main FF Series. (We get Type-1, Type-2, etc)

and the main FF numbered series XVI, XVII, etc continue the feel, settings, characters we've come to expect from the FF series.

But I'm just hoping at this point.

so does that mean the whole world map is going to be that unpopulated world shite from XIII? or is this thousands or at least hundreds of years in the future?

This was me until I played XIII.

I bought that shite day 1 full price never questioning because it had FF on it. To this day I still haven't finished it and don't really care to. Didn't buy -2 or -3.

Didn't buy XIV either, but that was for different reasons. Namely because I don't have the time I did when I played XI.

I agree that they should start to focus on one game at a time in the main series and hopefully we'll get more epic games like we used to.

Is type 0 an action RPG?

From what it sounds like to me, it's a completely different world, game and characters. The only thing there will be in common is the l'Cie, fal'Cie and Focus stuff, just with a different take on it all.

The wiki said Type-0 is the same. Fal'Cie, l'Cie and Focus are all still in it, just presented in a different way than they were in XIII

deal breaker

one of the biggest problems with xiii was the fricking indiscernible and weak story. So instead of giving us a new game, they want a mulligan or worse, think that the falcie shite was good and want to expand on it?

Type-0 is an action RPG with 13 playable characters and fast paced battle.

Think: crisis core on crack

XV will have a fully populated, interactive world. It is also open-world and you have a car for road trips.

There are huge towns, and airships.

The game is open world, they have goal markers for story missions and if you wanted you could run around (or drive) and just fight or visit towns. There's also dungeons and caves to explore.

I'm not bothering with type 0 simply because it says "type 0"

I'm talking about XV...is that the one that will still have all of the l'cie/falcie weird shite?

X had a convoluted plot, but it was so thoroughly fleshed out and explained through innumerable interactions along the way (both voluntary and involuntary). XIII doesn't really have you interacting with anyone.

I am getting Bloodborne too, but I've never played the Souls series.

I wouldnt hold off on Type-0 if you are a FF fan though, you will probably miss out on the 3 hr FF XV demo. Just a suggestion.

I'm getting both Type-0 and Bloodborne on launch day.

why is it that like 5 years later we're still with this fricking l'cie shite? The reviews were overwhelmingly clear...this is the worst FF game ever made.

So they schedule production for the next decade based on the world they created in the worst fricking game they've ever made so frustrating

I play 6-7 hours of PS4/Vita a night. (Im temporarily out of town working on an IT project at a hospital in TX, family is back home in LA) I'm just playing minecraft with some regular people right now bc I finished all my ps4 games. I thought about breaking out my Ouya and going back to FF6 and Secret of Mana 2 (tranlation), ff7-9 but decided I'll just wait for FF: Type 0 and the XV demo

I have no idea what to expect from Bloodborne but I am excited for the next 2 weeks for sure. I've heard great things about the Souls series.

they have said they are going to go away from the falCie l`Cie shite and concentrate on the ongoing war for control of the Crystals instead of the deities. only time will tell.
