Right now we have Simmons and Blakeney. Many think we have a shot at Newman.

are they any big men LSU is in on? If Martin or Mickey leave and especially if both leave, LSU needs one more big man IMO.

*not trying to debate whether Martin or Mickey should leave or will leave, just wondering if LSU is targeting any post players.

Not recruiting any big men. But Craig Victor transferring in helps add depth for next year. Martin is projected early 2nd round and Mickey isn't even on the board. I bet we get one back if not both, but that's another topic. Plus, we have Malone and Robinson coming back. We'll be fine

Also Epps will have a year under his belt. They can't get worse.

There are no offers out to any post players that are seriously considering LSU. So, unless there's a late bloomer or a surprise departure, don't expect anyone else.

I think at this point CJJ is very comfortable with what he has returning realizing 1 of M&M will at least be back as well.

Mickey or Martin
Simmons
Victor
Robinson III
Malone
Epps
Bridgewater

If just 1 guy out of Malone, Robinson III, Epps or Bridgewater step up next year, we will have a very solid big man rotation. If we need anything it's another guard which is partly why we're going so hard after Newman, but unfortunately he's a 1 and done (main point of getting a guard is all the guards we lose next season).

Mickey is in the same situation as Johnny O'Bryant, IIII. He would really benefit from playing another year at LSU to develop a broader offensive repertoire. He needs to show what he can do from the wing. Right now all he shows is a low block and high post game, and he isn't big enough to have those limitations in the NBA.

Out of these guys, Epps seems to be the one that has the most potential. To be honest, I think he should be playing more this year instead of Malone. Malone is no threat on either side of the court.

Epps will get better but he's too light to play D down low and has more lapses than Malone. Both will get better. I really like Epps' athleticism and Malone is already more effective than what Geert Hammink was at this stage (who was very effective his senior year after very blah FR-JR years).

I am optimistic LSU is one of the hotter names in the 5th year senior market. there's always quality talent to be snagged there. Hell, we almost got A&M's best player last season

I think about it all the damn time I know it's pot calling the kettle black, but A&M's string of luck with transfers and elite recruiting is awfully strange. At least LSU has a solid history in the sport

They different positions. Epps is a 3/4. Malone is really the only forward that is big enough to play post defense against stronger guys without being backed down.

I understand that you like his size, but I see Malone getting beat on the block due to his slow feet, getting giving up a ton of offensive rebounds, and he's absolutely no threat on the offensive side of the ball. Within this next offseason, Epps can put on 15-20 more pounds of muscle and be about the same size as Mickey. To me, Malone is such a liability on both ends of the court.

Out of Matin and Mickey, I think Mickey will be the one coming back and with Victor and Mickey along with hopes of Epps putting on a little more weight the back court will be solidified. I don't rule out Robinson, but it seems like he has further to go in regards to development compared to Epps.

Craig Victor is the correct answer.

I wasn't disagreeing on potential. For this year, I don't think Epps is an option in that spot. Still think they're different players and I hope that Malone either improves a lot or someone else can step up.

Only aspects Malone brings is size and decent passing ability.
