Tinder messed up the monetization

I understand the need to monetize your app so it's attractive to buyers and/or Wall Street if that's the goal, but a subscription service wasn't the way to go.
A 10-15 second ad when you open the app and a 10-15 second ad in between every 5-10 people to swipe would have done the trick.
Maybe people in big cities will pay the $5 for the extra swipes, but I'm not doing it on principle alone.

I always enjoy going to BR because I'm in range to swipe all the New Orleans hoes.

Yea it's bullshite
I downgraded to the previous version to get rid of that crap but they even fricked that one up so you couldn't get any more swipes

That crap might work 10-15 years from now, but too many people still know how to hang around a bar at closing time.

Keep it free and spreading like wildfire and use the number of users to sell ads. You could even do local ads. "Hey, take your next match to Joe's Bar. $3 domestics." Boom. 10 seconds. No one is deleting the app over that.

Tinder has gotten trashier over time. It's really not even worth being free anymore so I'm interested to see how this will work them.

Especially since your profile includes your tastes/interests. They could use that to match you with an advertiser the same way they match you with a potential date. "You both like the Port City Cafe" or "You both like the Irish Coast Pub"...and it can direct you to meet at one of those places if you're both walking around downtown Gulfport.

Someone in the other thread suggested an app called Hinge. I've been using it the past few days and it's really good. Have yet to see an ugly girl on there. It only shows people who you share mutual friends with. There a 16 pic minimum.
