so many instances of players who do not make it for academics, Robinson, Jones and now possibly valentine. time after time we chalk it up to kids not trying. At some point, you need to wonder about the quality of our academic support system.

We have one of the very best in the country. This is squarely on the students.

3 instances. One, two, three.

And at the academic support system is failing... It's all on the kids. And most of the time we have to discipline a kid for academics, it's because it's so obvious that he's not showin up to class or trying at all.

And you do realize that LSU football is 2nd in the SEC in graduation rate, just behind Vandy.

So 3 out of 85 scholarship players have problems and you question LSU's support system?

LSU is squeaky clean with academics. Be glad that football isn't risking penalties to get guys eligible.

how about individual accountability? you can't drill a hole in a person's head and pour knowledge in. the student must learn. if he has learning disabilities that's one thing but otherwise it's college.

This is one of the dumbest threads on the rant in quite some time, which is a big accomplishment.

The academic support ....... Is set up to where if you put any effort into school you will succeed or at least be eligible.
The academic support system does not fail, the student athlete flat out fails to put forth the effort necessary for the "support system" to work.

The reality is that some of these guys have been coddled so much that they start to believe their own bullshite and just assume some things will be taken care of for them. This is reality, go to class, use the support system, and take care of your business. This is on the players.
