Kick arse 2- Why Did It Get So Much Hate?

just saw it on a movie channel. it was pretty solid with a slight bit of depth
hit girl in high school was pretty good (Silly, but good)
it wasn't some masterpiece, but it wasn't bad

The highschool teen drama stuff with hitgirl was boring. I remember that being a big complaint

The movie was serviceable. Had I paid to go see it in a theater, I would probably hate on it more than I do. For a free movie and a 2 hour investment, it isn't bad.
I didn't like Carrey in it and him finishing the movie and then running around bashing people who were going to see it put a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths.

Hit Girl going through high school drama and the other "Superheroes" annoyed me. Especially Night Bitch and the gay dude. His stupid reasoning for not wearing a mask made me want to punch him in the face.

KA was great because he was just a normal kid playing at superhero. It would have been a better dichotomy to see him the same way as 1, while Hit Girl was the superhero playing at normal girl.

Yeah, it is somewhat bad. Only about 40 minutes in but every single scene with Motherfricker is horrible.
The school crap is weak.
Hit girl instantly getting weak knees over a boy band was weak.
The dialog has been pretty bad so far.
Heck, I turned it off. I'll watch the rest tomorrow but I certainly haven't liked it up to this point and I was a big fan of the first one.
Just finished it. The second half was somewhat better than the first. Still couldn't recommend it.

i'm not saying it was great. as somebody else said, it was serviceable. not worth a theater trip for sure, but not horrible

Been said before but the 1st KA really was a fun movie that was so superior to KA 2 that the taste you get in your mouth is bad in comparison. That being said as pure "stupid" entertainment it was ok and worth a watch at home.

KA2 wasn't put together very well. Instead of looking at what worked from the first movie and building on that they made the choice to change things up.
As noted drive in movie critic Joe Bob Briggs once said "when we watch a sequel we want the same damn movie as the first time around, only better."
Most of the heart was missing from the movie and was replaced with a double helping of cynicism. Separating the break out star of the first movie from the majority of the action in the second movie was a poor call. It was just not very well crafted.
