At What age would you allow a male child to play GTAV ?

Our 8 yr old is killing me to buy this, says all his friends play it.

I believe that his friends do but I would hold him off probably. You have to know your kid though. I watched terminator when I was about 7 and it didn't affect me but some kids aren't ready for that.
I would ask what movies he watches now? It has violence, drugs, sex, language, etc... If that's and issue for you then don't let him.

I played the very first GTA when I was like 7, and I'm not running over hookers and stealing their money. I think the kid will be fine.

You can pay a hooker to frick, suck, and handy you. Also the titty bars you can frequent will show digital nipples. 8? Nah. Its pretty loaded with expletive language and suggestive themes. There's heavy drug use.

I just realized I didn't play gta until I was 18. Gta 3 came out in 2001. That was the first one I played.

If his friends have it then he'll play it anyway. I had a friend growing up whose parents would literally let him do anything and they got him the playboy game when we were like 9 or 10. Good times

I remember my dad woukdnt buy the very first top down GTA for me. I got some stranger to buy it for me, then I shoved it in my pants and walked out of EB Games. It's debatable if I turned out ok.

Depends on how you feel about cursing but I imagine your kid will be doing it sooner or later if his friends are all playing it. They'll begin cursing so it'll wear on your kid too, I imagine. If you're cool with that, then around 13 would probably be cool. Of course, when he's 13, I doubt he'll even still want the game.
