“Gotham” star Jada Pinkett Smith has said that she won’t be returning to the hit Fox show for Season 2. The actress appeared on “Live With Kelly and Michael” on Friday morning and when asked if she would be back for the previously-announced second season said, “I don’t think so, no. I signed for a year and the year is up. But

I like her character. They need to get rid of Barbara.

Just when I thought your opinions could not get any worse.

She's had only one really good moment on the show. It came when she ...

Awesome.
I'm hoping she does some crazy stuff before dying, at least.
Maybe she'll inadvertently create a new villain.

I would say she had a big role in the rise of the Penguin.

This is the best news I've heard all day. I hope they don't try to sign her to another season.

In a world of overblown characters, Fish Mooney is the over-blown-est. I'll be glad to see her sleeping with her namesakes.

when they showed the old office manager fricked up with new body parts working, i thought that the doctor might get pissed with her and change her to a known villain.

I hope they let ole Oswald be the one to off her. He deserves to be the one to kill her. Plus it would be a nice bow tied to the end of that storyline.
And I'm actually surprised she revealed that. I don't know how much of public knowledge it was that she wasn't signed on for season 2. But normally they want to keep those big name character/actor writeoffs/deaths (hopefully) a surprise as much as possible.

It really feels like the writers have absolutely no clue what to do with her. The whole kidnapped-by-pirates-and-now-held-by-organ-traffickers just seems like they're making it up as they go, it has yet to have any impact whatsoever on the overall storyline and main characters, and I don't think it will.
I think the show just signed her because they needed another name to help promote the show. Then after she got ran out of town in the storyline, one of the producers was like "You know she's under contract for like, 12 more episodes, right?" And I'm guessing the writers said something to the effect of "frick."
