If I told you Colston had more yards than Graham on about 25 less catches would that surprised some people?

This "down" year crap has been old for two years now. Yes the drops were a bit of a problem but he had a way better year than people give him credit for.

He did, but he had some enormous drops this year

I was surprised by the amount of seperation he was able to get. He had a drop against Minny?? in the seam where he would still be running, but he dropped a perfect throw

Better be a very low number. Saints need to move on.

There was a lot of dead money this year if we cut him. Restructuring, especially with a pay cut, was always the best move for him

Would have been $5.4 million in dead money for just $4.3 million in savings. 2016, before the restructure, has $2.7 million in dead money and $7.8 million in savings

Just found out the real reason Colston is staying. He made a deal with the devil.

Career catches: 666.

Thank God. Idk if I could handle losing PT and Colston in one offseason.

Juice Landry had a solid seasons NSD still had 150+ less yards receiving than Colston. Marques is a valuable guy. One of my favorite players from this era.

Everyone, including the coaching staff, agreed that one of the major problems last year was a lack of veteran leadership. That's why I was bummed at the news of PT Cruiser. Colston is an invaluable asset in the locker room, and he's still got the goods as a receiver.

Agreed, Colston gives us more than just on-field production. Glad to see he's still a Saint.

Really want to see the details of this restructure. Love Colton but we aren't in position to overpay anyone for time served. The same message is hopefully being relayed with Evans and Grubbs.

But don't mention Brees, then a bunch of people get their panties in a wad. poor guy needs to feed his family. Everyone else needs to take a pay cut or leave, and we won't be able to sign any really good free agents, because no cap room. But Drew is untouchable

12 TDs could put MC/DB at #3

Let's not kid ourselves. When we needed Colston most last year, he failed us. Fumble in game 1 and multiple drops at awful times. He also got a bunch of junk yards when we were getting our shite kicked in.

Don't get me wrong I am glad he's back because I think he can turn it around, but let's not sugarcoat his poor play as a #1.

Look, I love Colston for what he's done but he's way past his prime now. We need a replacement for him now. Maybe he can mentor a younger guy in the draft. Anyways, I hope it's a pay cut. Colston didn't have hands last year and could barely get open. He was making more than Brandon Marshall...

He wasn't and hasn't been our number one for years now. Jimmy has clearly been that guy(the most targeted every year since 2011) and we spread the ball around a ton.

The three problems with Colston are that he's making number one money despite being the second or third option, he has a problem with drops from time to time(I thought he had less most years but he actually has dropped at least 8 a year outside of two years not counting his rookie year which isn't on PFF), and he has a fumbling problem.

But his positives outweigh the negatives by far and as long as he isn't costing us number one money he is well worth the price.

Well said. I don't mind having him here just at the right price. He's starting to show a little age but he should not be making more than a guy like Brandon Marshall. That's insane. Which btw, maybe the Saints could look at a Brandon Marshall. Seems that organization got their feelings hurt for him telling the truth. Marshall is an incredible WR and a bargain price when you consider he never has a QB to throw to him. Imagine what he'd do under Brees.

Nah, I didn't see that. Oh well. I think he's bipolar or something anyway.

Colston is gum on my shoe. He should be playing for 3-4m tops. There are plenty of options including the draft to upgrade.
