Well the Russian clubs on the reg play behind closed door.

I watched City's game at CSKA this year and it was super eery how you could hear literally everything. If something happened in the opening game, no matter how absurd or out of line it is, FIFA still wouldn't punish Russia right?

No way they would, at least not until the WC was over.

Who decides to boycott by the way? I mean will the president just say, "Nope, you guys can't go", or is it the soccer federation?

It would be the federation.

Russia could be a disaster as well. Really sucks these two are the next coming into my prime where I have money and no kids.

Should have gone to Brazil.

One of my buddy's parents are super well off and for our high school graduation presents he was going to take us to South Africa. Well, he made the promise right after the 06 WC and of course the economy tanked. They didn't get poor or anything, but his dad said it just wasn't smart to go and instead he just bought us a 70 in' tv to watch it on.

I'm going to end up having to wait until 2026 or whenever we have another one here, sucks that I'll almost be 40 then.

Federation.
I admin. a Facebook group of Fulham supporters, and there was an article last week that the Greek government was threatening to shut down league play because of an increase in fan violence.

The Fulham supporters went nuts. They're all English, big-government types UNTIL government "infringes" on football. Then it was all "government needs to get out of football...." Beyond the blatant hypocrisy, was the idea that there's an increase in violence, but government should just butt-out. Really? How does that work? Just let fans rampage as they will? Let people get hurt or killed?

What a strange mindset.

There is also a legit security concern now. Hopefully things calm down by the time it rolls around.

Euro 2016 will be interesting in France to say the least. I hope everyone is able to curb the violence and racial tensions by then.
