I'll accept it if you think I'm a pos for wanting him to report this. Any other reasons authorities shouldn't be notified here?

You can't read.

Talk to the owners.

If they are nice and apologetic just ask them to pay for your doctor visit IF it drew blood/broke the skin badly. They have bacteria in their mouths that can get nasty in humans.

Thats it.

No need to bring the law into this unless they are piece of shite people.

As in, the owners are piece of shite people.

I don't think you're a piece of shite for wanting to bring the "authorities" into this. I just think you're a huge pussy. (that is, if the injuries are very minor)

If the bite didn't break the skin, it's completely unnecessary.

Why? Animal control should be notified. That's one main reason why they're there for situations like this.

Same questions to lunchbox guy too. Who cares if dog didn't draw blood. The dog apparently felt like it was ok to lunge at a human and bite him. You need the guy's arm sutured up to contact animal control?

What about the fact that the dog bite set a dangerous president in place, assuming with the homeowner's association?

This country is overly litigious.

Its fricking embarrassing. "Wahhhhhh you hurt my feelings! I'm suing because I want money! Wahhhhhh!"

If the dog hurt you badly enough to warrant a doctor(not bad enough for you to THINK you need a doctor), talk to the owners. If they are cool about it and help pay for your doctor visit, leave it alone.

Bringing authorities and law into things should be last case scenario.

If you highlight the quote and hit the quote button it will produce an exact quote, without the typos. I actually went back to my earlier post to correct them.

Was the OP's arm shredded? I don't know. That is what the "if" is for. It indicates that I don't know if the injury was a shredding, or a little nip.

No its not. This guy got nipped by a family pet on a jog in a neighborhood. Good god people.

Yep. Protective dogs nip. He happened to break free from a leash. Express concern to owners and talk to them about. It wasn't like he was uncollared roaming the streets eating babies.

What the frick is "theoretical damages"? Is that what I ask for if you injure my unicorn?

Collateral damage is a military term.

"Actual damages" is the only correct term in this post.

I love when people on this site act like experts in fields they have no idea about. I am just a lowly contractor so I stick to giving construction advice on here and leave the legal and medical advice to those that know. Everyone else should do the same.

Pics of the wound? Are you going to have proof that's actually the dog that did it? Is he usually there chained up?

I walk my dog on a leash and he is never outside without me. He hates runners and is 12 lbs of terror and will go after arms and ankles but I do keep a short leash on him and I haven't had any accidents yet.
