Got reservations at 7 on Saturday. Seems like a pretty decent place. any must try things on the menu?

Everything. I went there on my bachelor party and our group of 12 got damn near every appetizer and side item. There was some sushi roll that was just insane - I want to say it was the Godfather roll. Admittedly I was pretty drunk by the time our steaks came out but I remember liking my NY Strip very much.

Were going up there for the same thing. Hitting the distilleries all day then going there at night. God willing I won't be too drunk by dinner.

Which distilleries? Four Roses makes some of my favorite bourbon but we had a new tour guide who was kind of terrible. Didn't help that we were hungover. Buffalo Trace was amazing though. We did the hardhat tour and they should probably actually give you a hardhat. Can't recommend that one enough. We had a private van through Mint Julep Tours and they showed us a great time.
After dinner at Jeff Ruby's, hit up Down One. There are lots of bourbon bars in the area, but I think it was our favorite. The Old Seelbach bar was great too, but more deserted when we were there.

Got a special Buffalo Trace Hard hat tour at 930am, then a stop at WinStar Farms to look at horses. Were gonna swing by the Maker's Mark distillery to dip our own bottles. We won't have time for that tour. (I'm not the biggest maker's fan so i'm not heart broken) Were gonna end at Willet where my buddy has a family connection and is gonna get us some upgrade of the normal tour. We've got a limo to drive us around so we don't have to worry about who stays sober.
ETA: I looked at Mint Julep Tours, but they wanted like 2k for the bus. I ended up renting the limo for almost half that and we get it all day and night.

That area just got two feet of snow and the roads to most of these distilleries mentioned aren't exactly interstates. Good luck.

I spoke with my limo driver this morning. He doesn't seem to think there will be any issues come Saturday morning.

The beet salad is good. My last visit home I had the bone in strip and it was really great. They always seem to have a good selection of ports and after dinner drink specials to end the meal on just the right note.

I have their steak seasoning. That's all I have. Looks like a great place, but I've never been to Louisville.
Which makes me wonder why did I buy their steak seasoning? I'm usually a kosher salt, olive oil and fresh crushed black pepper kind of guy.

Great place. I think everytime I've been I've had the Porterhouse and it's very good. For sides, they have a 6 cheese mac and cheese that I enjoy. I also like their Sauteed French Green Beans or the Brussel Sprouts.
I also second the Godfather roll recommendation. Really, you can't go wrong with any of their sushi.
Fair warning, they literally have people camped out on I-65 right now with the snow so don't be surprised at delays. Downtown should be clear enough to travel though especially since you'll be at the base of the Galt House. Your only other concern may be some flooding down on River Road, but you'll be up high enough there that it shouldn't be that bad on Saturday.
Also if you're going to be in town earlier in the day, try out Wild Eggs for breakfast/brunch. They serve until about 2-3 pm and are just about 5 blocks up from Jeff Ruby's.

We are staying at a ranch in Pewee Valley.
We may try Wild Eggs for Brunch before our flight out on Sunday.
Thanks for the recommendations!
