Not a long term but would be good if the Saints have someone from say a former 2nd round pic groomed to take over in a year or two.
Drew really only has about 2-3 more seasons in him so I think picking up a short term solution at a position of need is fine.

Maybe Yall can stop posting every damn body that gets cut now.....
Come on now, I'm relatively new to the board and even I know this won't stop these threads.

Nope mostly man on the outside. Every now and then we might run an over/under zone with a safety and outside corner but most of our zone coverage is cover one, sometimes cover two with middle zones.
If we actually got a cover LB or two we could run some cover three, but until then we'll have to keep dedication to much coverage to the middle to do so.

Well I guess Maxwells out then.

I wouldn't want him anyway. He NEEDS to be in a cover three scheme to succeed, much like Sherman (though Sherman wouldn't completely fall off a cliff like Maxwell would).
I much prefer a corner that can cover man because most of those guys can play zone also, but not vice versa. It lets you be more versatile scheme wise.
Tramon Williams would be a good stop gap but I'd prefer something a little younger to give us more time before we have to address it again.

You do know Pierre has been cut and Ingram not signed???
You do know who our head coach is right? You do know we throw the mother fricker 50 times a game right?

I personally want Kareem Jackson.
Played in a similar scheme at houston. Crennel and Rob even served on the same coaching staff a few times.
Plus he's young, not seen as a number 1 guy so he will be cheap and he's never been hurt

Yup Jackson has been my personal preference from the start. I just wonder if we can reasonably afford him(I know they can make room but is it smart long term).
Posted on 3/5/15 at 6:40 pm to bonethug0108
I think so because I think most see him as a number 2 even though he was a number 1 in Houston.
He's in the tier 2 of CB free agents as well. Maxwell, Flowers, Cromartie and Revis will all be more hotly sought after

That's my hope. Being young and a man corner that's pretty good has me worried we may have to get into a bidding war to get him.

Technically he is an upgrade from Bell. But upgrading from 12 week old rotting shite diapers to expired cottage cheese isn't fixing the problem.
