The OT has given me some surprisingly great advise over the years.

The Movie/TV board has recommended me some great shows.

The poliboard has provided some unique insight and some opinions that I never would have found anywhere else.

The gaming board has taught me much about building PCs.

The Music board turned me on to some great local acts like The Hitchhiker as well as good touring ones like Turnpike Troubadours.

The rant is a wasteland

Suffering from depression and schizophrenia

I'd like to offer a very rare, serious response here. I've suffered from depression for nearly 50 years and I relate to the daily suicidal thoughts among other things.

However, about two years ago, at the end of my rope, I went to a doctor, resolved to either overcome my problem or end my life.

After talking with the doctor, I decided to try an anti-depressant, one that I'd not tried before.

Now, two years later, the suicidal thoughts are gone and life is better than I could ever have imagined. Just the absence of these thoughts has been an enormously liberating turn of events in my life.

Moral of the story: seek help one way or another. The answer may be meds. It may be counseling. But it surely ISN'T sitting alone with a loaded gun in your hand.

Get up and look for help. Help is out there; but it needs you to make that first small step.

If one realizes 80% of the replies will be dog crap and concentrate on the non-dog crap then the OT is all right.

Holy crap man. It's no shame to go get professional help for these issues. You can get better but bottling it up and going it alone won't work in the long run. You seem like a really cool guy so do yourself the solid of talking to a professional

Ask NOT what the OT can do for you, but what you can do for the OT!

I learned not to abbreviate the school name of Jewell Sumner, cause it leads to a one-year ban for being anti-semetic, or however its spelled.

Don't do it man. Get help. Someone out there loves you and you owe it to them and yourself to get whatever help you need.
