I'm looking for something to do on Friday during the day until the lsu baseball game. The zoo is close to minute maid so it's at the top of the list.
How is the zoo there? Is the museum of natural sciences A better idea? TIA

That's true...I want to go to the zoo with animals that I don't see every day

I don't know where you're staying, but the zoo is linked to downtown by rail, which makes things more convenient.

You should hook up with berg. He's wild like an animal.

Housevof Blues downtown is within walking distance.
Zoo is cool, and so is the Holocaust museum down there.
Chevk out Rice village as well.

Hou zoo is good. Great way to spend a few hours.

Yeah, the zoo is by the museum district. If you're coming in from Kingwood, you might as well make a day of it. There also some decent bars around there (Rice Village like George said). You'd drive down Sunset Blvd. across the Rice campus, which is beautiful btw.
Maybe stop by Bodegas on Binz St. for some tacos and beer underneath the oaks.

Just took the family. The reptile exhibit, primate, and lion exhibit are neat. Make sure you find the stair well that takes you to the underground viewing of the lion's den. We had two lionesses right in front of us nuzzling each other. I was amazed at their size. I think they are working on the gorilla habitat so it's a bit of a downer. If you eat there, find the restaurant next to the giraffe and rhino exhibit. Pretty good food for a zoo. You can also pack a bag if you want as they didn't check them and seem really laid back about outside food and drink. It's definitely a good way to waste a few hours.

The zoo is really nice. It's in a good part of town and shouldn't be crowded during the day. I recommend it to kill a few hours as well
