Uh, why? What did I say about Paris that was false? Parisians are awesome people? No. Paris isn't filthy? No.

If you think all Parisians are dicks, the problem might be with you.

Yeah because asking them in French if they mind speaking English totally warranted being scoffed at and called a stupid American. Even the French people in the country side told me not to think of Parisians as French because they are totally different from everyone else in the country.

They might not be wrong. You're probably just ugly though. No one likes ugly people.

I never had a bad experience over there.

Good advice in here. After Napoleon's Tomb walk down the block to see Rodin's "The Thinker" sculpture at the Rodin museum too. And the Musee d'Orsay is unreal. Do not skip it.

No. Across the Seine from the Louvre. It's another art museum. You will see more paintings that you are familiar with here than in the Louvre.

I won't try and argue this

I loved France everywhere outside of Paris. Paris has some redeeming qualities but if I went back to Europe I'd skip over going there.

Oh. Well that war museum was the shite. Best one I've ever been to. At that point of our trip, we were tired of seeing artwork.

I know - so much to do and see. OP - Consider downloading the Rick Steve's walking tours to your phone and use those for getting around some. They are really, really great when you don't have a tour guide and want to go at your own pace. Gives a ton of context and information that helps you "experience" these things instead of "looking at" them. If that makes any sense.

And if you can get out to Normandy for one day do that.

You can't rush Normandy. We stayed there for the night.

If I had 5 days to suggest for a first trip there:

Arrival in afternoon - Go to Hotel and then immediately get out. Go for a walk. Maybe even ride one of the boats on the Seine. Don't sleep - you will get past your jet lag by staying up.

Day Two - Notre Dame and Louvre.
Day Three - Walk the Champs-Elysees to the Arc dTriomphe. Walk over to the Eiffel Tower, Go up at night.
Day Four - Train to Versaille. This is an all day thing. Worth doing.
Day Five - Napoleon's Tomb/Invalides/War Museum/Rodin Museum
Day Six - Half Day at Mont Martre / Sacre Coeur then return to Musee D'Orsay.

Go to the top of everything. Top of the Eiffel tower, top of the Arc, top of Sacre Coeur. Squeeze catacombs in somewhere too. Walk everywhere if you can.

It's like DIsney world but with longer lines, more annoying employees, and less water parks.

Been there twice. Not nearly enough.

You could easily blow through 5 days and not see everything.

Hell the Louvre by itself is two days.

See Paris by batobus. It's the river taxi, you can get on and off at your leisure and it hits all tourist parts. If you go to Louvre, be prepared to defend your shite from pickpockets. The little frickers run rampant there.

Go see the French Army Museum. Some amazing things there.

Eat eat eat. The food is every bit as good as they say, however don't order a burger. They serve them basically raw.

I could go on, but have a ball there!

I have never had a single issue with a Parisian. In fact, I found them pretty cool and easy to get along with. More then willing to take the time to direct you if you have questions.

Now Londoners, those guys are assholes.
