Forming LLC and Registered Agents

I'm starting an LLC and was wondering is having a lawyer as the registered agent on the 973 form required on initial filing?
I'm planning on having a registered agent but I want to get the LLC formed and have a checking account, etc set up to pay my lawyer/accountant.

Nope. The registered agent just have to be located in the state where you are registering the company. It can be you. It can even be a company - there are companies out there that do nothing but registered agent services for a fee.
