VTSMX is double the price but been around about 14 more years.

Both invested in similar stocks with similar growth.

Just starting out a Roth, why would you choose one over the other ?

Appreciate any insight.

price/share really means nothing

VTSMX has and should continue to return more in good markets and lose less in bad markets. Higher risk, higher returns.

VHDYX buys slower growing, large dividend paying companies.

VTSMX buys the entire stock market, so you get small, midsize, and large companies. Slow growing large ones, fast growing small ones, and everything in between.

I would choose VTSMX if your horizon is over 10 years.

I just put $3k down in vanguard high dividend yield. Wanted something better than savings account or cd interest.
