We keep 2 players in my league and it is closing in on time for a keeper decision. 12 team league, head to head 5x5 scoring. We have a $260 budget for the draft, the keeper costs come out of your draft budget.

The way the keepers work in this league is a player on your final roster can be kept for last years draft value plus an inflation fee ($3 this year). If the player was not drafted last year, they can be kept for $0+$3 inflation.

These are the players I am considering, and their relevant cost for me ( I have factored in the inflation to each value listed below).

Jose Bautista at $24
George Springer at $3
Kyle Seager at $13

I also had Adam Jones to consider but he would cost me $38 to keep which is not worth it.

So my basic question is, do I keep Bautista for a little less than half of his default 12 team auction value, or keeper Seager for $13 due to position scarcity? I think springer is a lock to keep at $3.

ETA: Didn't realize someone drafted seager last year for $10, so my cost to keep him would be $13

I'd keep Seager and Springer. That's outstanding value. And the year after, they'd still be a hell of a bargain at 6.

That's phenomenal value, easy decision.

Springer and Seager. I love both those dudes. Cheap, young or in their prime respectively, and top 50 players.

Agree with the three above me. It's Seager and Springer for me.

They would be $10 next year and $15 the year after, then I would have to put them back into the draft pool. 3 year max on keepers

Damn just was told by the commish that Seager was drafted last year for $10, so that would be my cost to keep him plus inflation. Does that change everything?

13 dollars is still really good bargain for a really good player at a premium position.

Bautista is getting old, and that's pretty expensive.

At least keeping the guys are a bargain price will allow you to pick and chose who you want to spend big money on. It's better than being force to keep a soon to be 35 yo Bautista at 40+

It does make it much closer. While their default value are 18 and 42, you'll likely see Seager's price fall in the low to mid 20s. You're probably looking at a 11 dollar saving on Seager and 14 on Bautista here. I'd still probably lean Seager to save money for the draft and due to his position but if it's an OPS league, I might go the other way.

It is a standard 5x5 head to head league

Bautisa would cost me $24, I was stating his default value is in the 40's

ESPN has him as the #8 overall player this year.

Frick it... go Bautista. You're not likely to keep either player anyways and it'll be a little easier to get Seager at good value opposed to Bautista. You'll be okay with a cheaper player like Wright if you miss out on Seager in the draft.

Final answer.

This was a pretty tough one.

Yeah, I feel like its really only worth keeping people at a good value, I really like Adam Jones and will just try and get him in the draft again.

Locking Seager in at a lower price for future keeps is really the main advantage of keeping him at $10, if his default market value is higher next year, and I pay in the low 20's to get him then he may not have value keeping him at say $25-$28 next year.

IDK, this was much simpler when I thought Seager would be $3

After the update, I am switching Seager to Bautista. Go for the stud.
