Listened to Rob Zombie and Black Sabbath's We sold our soul for Rock n Roll

The other day I listened to Rob Zombie, then Black Sabbath's greatest hits album known as We Sold our Soul for Rock n Roll.
This was only the 2nd time I listened to Rob Zombie. I've been listening to Black Sabbath for 35 years, but haven't listened to this album in about 6 months.
I must say Rob Zombie's album had superior production value, but his group had no counter to Tony Iommi's lead guitar solos.
It was interesting listening to them back to back for comparison.
Rob Zombie is just as good as Metallica. But they don't have a lead guitar player as good as Iommi. I still like Black Sabbath better than either, but I wonder how I'd feel, if I had been listening to Rob Zombie for 35 years...or would I still be listening to him decades later?

Yes, he is! I found where Rob did a cover of a song, but I don't see an album. Would you be so kind...?

I first listened to White Zombie a little over 20 years ago and I've had no desire to listen to anything he's done in about 15 years. His first solo album is ok but the rest is complete shite.

Rob/White Zombie's albums do have superior production. But the brutal genius of Tony Iommi's minor pentatonic solos will simply be forever unmatched. Greg Ginn took the Iommi concept further with his incredible use of the chromatic scale. Seeing him live in NOLA with the "Black Flag" iteration was like seeing God.
You are correct - no one will match Sabbath because Iommi just killed it (and his subtle channeling of his ProCo Rat enahnced his tone) but don't overlook Ginn who kept his tone but added onto his range. The Process of Weeding Out is a testament to human brilliance.

That blues guitar solo on Past Lives is hard to beat.

Are you fricking kidding me? That might be the most ridiculous musical assertion I have ever read or heard.
Rob is pretty talented and White Zombie was one of the better industrial metal groups, but neither White Zombie nor Rob Zombie's solo work belong in the top 50 all-time when it comes to heavy metal music.
