2 games left plus the SECT -- is 23-10 good enough to get in to the Dance?

Should beat Tenn
Will probably lose at Arkie (but hey, maybe this team has turned a corner?)

= 22-9 and probably 4 seed in SECT

Probably win 1st game, probably face Kentucky 2nd game

= 23-10

That's a good enough record in the Big 10 or ACC, but in the SEC? We still may need some magic...

We get to 23, and it is just about the seed. We may be in now, although I think we need 1 more win somewhere (doesn't matter who)

If we dont drop Tennessee its almost a lock, especially if we keep the double bye.

I think if we win one more game in the regular season or SECT we are in

The other night Lunardi said no more bad losses and we're in. We only have one possibility for that left on the schedule at this point.

If things fall exactly like this, we are without a doubt in.

Now if we frick up against Tennessee, and then lose out against Arky and the 1st game of the SECT, then it's time to start really worrying.

I think the only way we're back on the bubble is to drop three in a row.

This was a HUGE win today.

We are in. Top 4 in the SEC should land us a #10 seed at worst.

Agreed.

I think losing 3 in a row is highly unlikely.
:vs. Tenn (likely win, but assume loss)
:@ Ark (tough game, likely loss, assume loss)

That puts LSU at 10-8 in SEC, but even 10-8 LSU is guaranteed minimum of 6th seed in SECT.

That means first round bye and playing winner of 11/14 game (as 6th seed). Right now that would be winner of MSU/Mizzou.

In essence, LSU would have to lose:
vs. Tenn
@ Ark
(and SECT) MSU or Mizzou.

That would be 2 bad losses, highly unlikely (I don't see losing to MSU or Missou again) and probably leave LSU out.

I really think LSU just needs one more win to lock in the bid. I also think if LSU is able to beat Tenn and @Ark, then enter SECT as 4 seed and beat UGA or Ole Miss again before losing to UK in 4th round, LSU could possibly end up as a 7 seed.

We have to beat arkansas to finish top 4. I don't think Ole miss will lose another game in the sec. Georgia still has Kentucky to play.

1. We need to beat Tennessee no matter what.

2. In the SECT, we need to beat whichever bottomfeeder we play first on Thursday. We are likely the #5 seed.

3. If we do the two things above, we are definitely in.

I agree that Ole Miss losing @Bama or vs. Vandy is unlikely.

LSU does control it's own seeding at this point, but winning @ARK will be difficult. LSU likely finishes as the 5 seed and will play 12/13 seed winner in round 2. SHOULD BE cake.

at worst would be a 9 seed. having to play the #1 in the round of 32.
10 plays 7 and then the 2. There is a big drop off after Wisconsin and Virginia.

Wisconsin would be more trouble than U of K. No weaknesses.
Virginia plays defense intensely.

Notre Dame might be a difficult 2 for LSU. big inside game and a real deal gunner from the wing.

I would rather have the 10 than a 9, if I knew that the 9 has to play Wisconsin.
