How many times has EG been called Sandy Vag on here because of his extended time off? It sucks and we paid the guy a lot of money for little output.

A lot of the issue was that he didn't have an obvious injury, but was experiencing and discomfort. Could it be that he had been immobilized for months and it takes longer to recover than it did 10 years ago? Derrick Rose was supposedly fully ready going into this year after his own discomfort row with the fans. Was there something unstable or weak in Rose's knee that he could feel, but an MRI wouldn't show?

We also compare pro athlete injuries to Average Joe injuries. Pro athletes have to return to a much higher level of performance than Joe. Joe just wants to walk without a limo and be able to st and long enough to fish.

This is where everyone will jump off of the ship. I think years of PED use by players in all major leagues have given us a warped perception of healing time.

I have clearly not been as harsh towards Gordon as a lot people, SO I'm sure most will take it with a grain of salt, but I figured it would be a good time to bring it up now that he is playing and performing well.

Gordon was misdiagnosed/mistreated for 2 years. The Chicago doctor rehabbed him and a healthy offseason gave him back his fitness. We could have had at least one more year of this EG with a proper initial diagnosis/treatment.

Only person that knew how Gordon felt was Gordon. Complaining about his contract is fine; it has been a bad investment.

Questioning his desire to play or "manhood" was always dumb.

This Larry Sanders focused article on mental health in the NBA was fascinating
