Do Hotels allow booking online for Mardi Gras?

Looking at Mardi Gras for 2016 and not a single New Orleans hotel is available for Marriott or IHG groups. How does one book a hotel room downtown?

Why do you want to go?

It might be too far ahead. They probably won't allow until they see how the market is and how much they can gouge.

Too far ahead unless you're trying to book a suite, penthouse or balcony for the whole week.

Yeah we did this year. Did it Saturday evening and stayed Sun-Tue. Maybe in your case it's probably too far ahead, but they do allow it.

Too far ahead. Most hotels allow you to book non-special events ~11 months out. For speical events it depends, but they usually like to wait a little longer to open those dates.

Typically it's six months out but some wait until 60 days out. I would suggest booking what is available in Sep/Oct near where you want and then looking for what you want 60 days out.

you could try calling the hotel and asking them instead of the OT

It is still Feb. Try again tomorrow, March, and the IHG group properties should open up.

I stay downtown Friday to Tuesday every Mardi Gras for work and you can most certainly book online, just not this far out.

I know the hotel I stay at for mardi gras week is already booked for next year. I assume most hotels are too
ETA: I had to prepay for next year when I checked out this year. If not, the hotel had a waiting list and I would not get a room for next year.

Why are you so scared of the phone?

We booked at the roosevelt 2 weeks before this past mardi gras. It was easy enough.

It was a solid way to get an answer to what is a dumb question. Sorry baw but its 2015, you can use online booking.

And did you get a clear answer to your question? Or a hotel room?
