I think what concerns me the most is that we have to "waste" a draft pick grabbing a WR this year. We have a lot of issues on Dline and LBer, still need Oline, need a RB, need a young WR for depth.

I just described basically an entire team minus QB and Secondary positions.

On the money board, this totally makes sense. But he has always been there when their flashy #1 and 2s were out with injury. It's always easy to say you can replace a guy until the game starts and your brilliant prospect runs a bad route or drops a ball.

He also had 13.3 yards per catch, 2nd best on our team.

I think it came down to cutting hester or HD, and Hester does one thing more than HD and he does it very well.

Ive actually been arguing with Falcons fans on reddit who are, sucking Gurleys dick that if we go Offense in round 2, it should be a wr instead of a running back. Our wrs are old. We need fresh legs in there and to train someone while we still have both Roddy and Julio. But that is just my opinion.

Well each one of those 3 guys (Roddy, Jones, and Douglas) each have their own set of flaws. Roddy is on the downswing of his career (kind of like Colston for us), Jones has issues remaining healthy, and Douglas is an above average player (will likely never be as good as the other two guys in their prime). The thing that Douglas is consistently able to take the field and he produces a fairly consistent, above-average performance. To me, he should have been the guy they used as an anchor for the unit going forward. JMO.

This appears to be another example of Dimitroff's inadequacies. Pretty much everyone involved in the coaching staff with Mike Smith disliked him and questioned his abilities as a GM. Only reason Dimitroff is still there is because he kisses Blank's arse at every turn.

Releasing all your vets isn't the right move.

Just trust me on this one.

I dunno, hester impressed the shite outta me as a WR last year. Maybe it was a fluke, I dunno.

He was really good, but there's a lot more than one season's worth of evidence from his Chicago days that he's not the guy you want to hang your receiving corps on.

Oh yeah, he had some great things about him. I think teams will be disappointed though if they bring him in as a wr 2.

But most likely, this is a Quinn decision. TD no longer has control of the roster.

Someone had a good point

quote:

Aside from the $3.5M in cap savings, the INT rate when Douglas has been targeted has been really bad the last 2 seasons (5.8%) in comparison to everyone else on the team (1.8%). He doesn't fight for balls often enough, and has problems in big moments (See the 2012 NFCCG and the last game played at Candlestick).

I saw that. I am not sure myself, but other people are saying that he would not have been good for the zone blocking scheme. I have no clue though honestly.

He won't be the last I feel. I also don't see us signing Weatherspoon either. Please don't take another one of our linebackers though. I could not take seeing Spoon in black and gold.

That would leave the cap space at $31,720,510.

Looks like they plan to do some damage in FA this year.

Don't worry. The Saints are 22 Mil over the cap this year. They are doing nothing in free agency. *wink*

Well, I'm not expecting a lot from ATL this year. New coach and new staff, etc. They're obviously rebuilding.

Curious to see how this plays out with the new coaching staff. If this were mike smith, we wouldn't do shite and sit on 31 mil for nothing. That's what we did last year in FA.

What's crazy is it took the Falcons this long to realize how much a legit WR3 could exploit defenses playing behind Roddy and Julio
