Young Sherlock Holmes is one of those guilty pleasures and in my opinion is one of Spielberg's best movies.
The hallucination scene and the pyramid ending is awesome.

Always loved this as a kid. Watched it again a few months ago and it holds it well. The guy who played Holmes is in the new Holmes movie with Ian McKellan later this year.

The BBC ones. Everyone is like a movie.

Cumberbatch and Martin are way more charismatic than Rowe and Cox.

In Young Sherlock, Watson could've been played by the pig from Babe, and Sherlock was kind of like Mitch from Dazed and Confused all grown up. Both likable characters sure, but there no Cumberbatch and Freeman.

You're right...the first two were better

I probably watched it a billion times when I was a kid. Saw it again maybe like 6 or 7 years ago thought it held up well.

Holds up very well. CGI is a bit dated, but then again that movie was one of the first to use modern CGI for SFX.

Incidentally, I liked Young Sherlock a lot. One of my favorites as a kid. And yeah, it holds up.

I liked how it answered a lot of questions about Holmes, such as where he got the pipe and hat he is so famous for, why he never married, where his trademark saying "elementary" came from, as well as the origin of Professor Moriarty. None of these things were accurate to Doyle's novels, but it was still cool to see how it might have happened.

I haven't seen YSH since the theater in the 80s; but I remember thinking it was a little preposterous - rewrote history about when heavier than air flight was invented.
