...along the river like Shreveport has. Was there a couple weeks ago and thought it was really nice. I remember the old 'catfish town' but was too young then to remember if it was really nice. It just amazes me Baton Rouge can't do anything nice along the river outside of a dumpy casino.

They have a place for one between LSU and downtown which they are developing I believe. They also have a place for one downtown near the USS Kid.

It's actually being designed right now. The walkway goes from Farr Park to downtown currently. The next phase will be a system of parks and mixed use developments facing the river from the Kidd to north of the Hollywood Casino where a new underpass under the railroad was recently completed opening up the site that was originally to be used for the Baton Rouge Alive Project.

The one in Bossier is just ok. They overpaid for the land and built something that is not sustainable for SBC. BWW is moving out and many businesses can't afford the rent. It was too expensive for most businesses and was a losing deal for the original investors if I remeber right. The new owners have done a better job but losing BWW will hurt. Interested how it will look in 5 years.

Here's a link to the advocate discussing the River Park development, which will be at the far northern point of the downtown "boardwalk".

No one cares enough about that shithole to build a levee.
