I certainly hope he pulls it back together. Anyone who wishes bad in a situation like this has probably never had someone close to them deal with addiction
I especially feel bad for him because his battle is fought in the public eye. I guess that comes with the money as a big time athlete though.

I always pulled for him,but the comments he made after he left Texas showed me how ungrateful he is. Both the Texas Rangers organization and the fans were great to Hamilton, but he threw the team and the fan base under the bus on his way out of town.
If he self-reported this, it makes me wonder what might really be going on with him. He's had a couple of terrible years in LA already, he's injury prone, and I suspect his best days are way behind him. He may just be tired of the pressure, knowing he can't really play at anything approaching a high level anymore.

Now imagine trying to do that when you're a multi-millionaire and MLB superstar. The temptation presented to him is more than any of us can likely imagine
This is a cop-out... Its all about routine and working with what you know..... Willpower is key... I can be tempted just as much as he could.... Being a millionare has NOTHING to do with addicition....

You're basically saying how I feel. I don't know Josh personally, so I'm not going to be pro or against just because he's famous. I don't feel any sort of connection to it.

I hope he gets his life in order but it's not a shock that this happened.
I hate to say I told you so to Angels fans but... well... Rangers fans kept telling y'all that him quitting on the Rangers and abandoning his support system was one of the worst things he could do for a person with his condition.

Not at all...a similar story every 3 years. At least he didn't bash anyone's windshield in this time.
Does he not have his brother around him for those '8 seconds' as he called it, anymore?

The shock is that the Angels were willing to give him all that money, given the track record.

So people pray for Josh Hamilton and throw Josh Gordon to the side.

Absolutely still pulling for the guy. Hope he can get it together and come back stronger.

What did he do to the Rangers exactly?

And without him yall would never have made it to two World Series. Be grateful and put away the damn salt. Hamilton has made some awful decisions that have affected not only him but his entire family. But I believe that there is a lot of good in Josh Hamilton. I will continue to root for the guy and hope he wins this terrible battle that he himself started.

Hamilton's problem is smoking crack cocaine, Gordon's problem is smoking weed. One of those will kill you. It's apples and oranges.

I have a drug history.. I've been clean for a while now almost 7 years and i'm not going to sit here and say "oh it's something i deal with everyday" because it's not, i even drink without a problem it's drugs.. a particular drug lol, that's my problem
but with that said if you haven't been through it you can't understand because it's not logical. Before i stayed on the wagon i relapsed 3 times, once with 11 and a half months clean, with no intention whatsoever to use. Went to the gas station, ran into a dude i knew who was holding, 10 mins later i was high as a kite, off to the races for another 6 months
then when people know you got money and they know you like drugs.. shite it was bad enough for me just because people knew i had a real fricking job lol i could only imagine how hard it is when every dealer, user, dope whore in the world knows that you like coke and you got 10s of millions of dollars in the bank these dudes are ruthless
It got a lot easier for me when I got properly medicated. I have serious depression issues, general anxiety and a pretty bad case of obsessive compulsiveness so once i started doing something i like i just could not stop doing it. once i got clean and got on an anti depressant and started seeing a shrink it got 10x easier
actually i mean it's not healthy l;ol but smoking crack really doesn't kill you. no more than cigs will. You can have a heart attack but that's not often and not likely. it's not like opiates it's pretty damn hard to OD on crack cocaine. An alcoholic will die before a crackhead will assuming the crackhead doesn't get shot or get the AIDS or something

Probably will, that seems to be the pattern. Then we can do this yet again in 3 years.

Gordon absolutely refuses to admit that he has any sort of a problem. He just needs to grow the hell up and either admit he has a problem or put down the bong.

Yeah, let's not hold Hamilton accountable for being a jerk. He quit on Texas in 2012, and after he signed with LAA he had the nerve to criticize an organization that had bent over backwards to help him.
He also said that Dallas wasn't a good baseball town, and that the Rangers weren't the #1 sports team in DFW. Everybody knows that the Cowboys are the most popular team here, but Hamilton signed with a team that is no better than #3 in their own market, and LA doesn't even have a football team.
I wish him well in his perso NAL struggle, but he showed his arse on his way out of Texas.
