Grind City squatting

he is digging deep. this guy has as lifting blog so I was checking out all of his materials and then ran across his squat video. Looks really safe and solid.

I was waiting for his back to snap in half. I'm no gym rat, but that has to be all wrong, no?

he seems to be doing a "half good morning" at the bottom of the squat...funny thing is on his blog several times he writes about only working his "beach muscles that week because his lower back is a wreck.

Well I guess fricking so.

I prolly haven't done legit squats since high school, but I know you aren't supposed to bend your back and do a curtsy.

Also, I was the 69th viewer on that video.

Yeah, he's gonna for sure rupture a disc doing that shite.

Classic sign of too much weight for his strength

I don't think it's too heavy...he's just doing it wrong. If he just uses his legs, then it seemed like he could handle that pretty easily.

No, when someone rises from a squat like that. The motion of the back like that indicates he cannot handle that amount of weight. I'm willing to bet he takes a plate of there and he has good form

His first move from the top is to drop his chest forward instead of dropping his arse down. squatting isn't hard if you do it with proper technique. I think he could actually lift more weight if he had better techniqe since his arse and quads would be doing the work instead of his lower back

What is the purpose of doing a lift that is best for certain muscle groups, only to perform it in a way that poorly (and dangerously) works different muscle groups?

Well he said his hips wouldn't allow him to do it correctly.

Looking at the video below, I definitely should have waited a week. Those grinding reps don’t do you any favours in the recovery department and are also more likely to illicit some kind of injury – sometimes I’m a bit of a dumb arse.

at least he knows it and admits it.

Terrible form. He is asking for an injury.

Needs to keep his chest up sink his hips. His form is all kinds of off.. He's gonna take a quick trip to SNAP city if he keeps that up.

You can really tell on that "grind city" last set.

I can't tell if he's shrugging, trying to hammer curl, or trying and failing to do shoulder flys
