This is an absolutely huge game. I am very excited. It is unfortunately my last regular season game to go to live.... Can't go Tuesday.

Tigers have to come out hungry.

Did we really want OM to lose so that they have extra motivation against us? 1) payback 2) keeping a 1st round sec bye and 3) unlikely yes, but losing to us, then hypothetically @bama and they're squarely on the bubble...it makes them want a win that much more.

You don't think we have a little bit to play for too?

Exactly. It gives us a ton more motivation. We can move into 4th in the league Saturday. That is big for a league projected to get 5-6 teams in the tournament.

Joe Lunardi updated his bracketology. No longer listed as last 4 byes. Means we have some wiggle room... But we lose it all with a loss on Saturday. I could see us getting a little jump with a win also.

I kinda want to be a 9 seed. Im not scared of anyone.

C'mon man, it's not about being "scared", it's about being rational and logical. Just think of '09 and how that went. As mentioned in other posts, I'd be ok with Gonzaga as a 9 seed, but Virginia or Duke? Why would we want that.

Of course I want to get in, but I don't want an 8 or 9 seed. Do whatever is possible not to get that, that's what I want. So I've been posting my scenario of how we achieve that and it's upsetting people apparently

Lets all be honest. If we made the tourney as an 8 or 9, won the first game and competed against a Duke in a loss, we'd all be pretty happy with the season, right?

I was just telling this to my brother. We've shown we can play with anyone. We wouldn't be your typical 8/9 seed in round 2 against the 1 seed. Honestly, I think the 1 seed would be pissed getting in a bracket with us as an 8/9.

I agree with everything people are saying, but look at the '09 team. They honestly could have been an elite 8/Final 4 team if they receive a better draw, but they had to play UNC. I don't care about regular season or sec tourney, I want to make a run in the ncaa tourney, that's literally all I care about. Getting an 11/10 provides a better and more realistic chance to do that...unless the Zags are the 1-seed we play

More 8 seeds have made the final four and won national titles than 10 or 11 seeds

I bet more 1 seeds have won more NC's than 8-seeds.

Who gives a shite? In '09, we had a team that should have been a 4-5 seed and got an 8. This team, as talented as they are, has not been consistent enough to show they belong as an 8. We beat a #4-5 seed on the road and lost at home to the #1 team. We also lost to auburn, Mississippi St, and Mizzou...now people want to take on the world. Sure we probably have the ability to beat lots of teams, but clearly that has not translated

I just want to keep winning and not have to worry about being at the mercy of the freaking tournament committee. The problem with being a 10 or 11 is that if you are a Big 5 conference team being considered at the 10 or 11 it means you are a bubble team who could be a 10, an 11 or in a play-in game. Or, even worse, in the "First Four Out" or "Next Four Out."

Absolutely.

I would love to knock off a 1 seed early, but just making the tournament and having a matchup that people talk about will help put us in good position for the future.

I think people are just assuming as a 10 seed we would beat a 6 seed. We have lost to many a team that is far worse than tournament caliber. I want to go into the tournament confident and the higher our seed means we finished out the year well. That is what I want.

For everyone who wants LSU to be a 10 seed rather than a possible 8 or 9 seed, enjoy rooting for Arkansas during the season finale...

Well with that logic we can definitely lose to an 8/9 seed as well. This is all "future" because we are fans and are afforded the luxury of looking ahead. And sure, I wouldn't be disappointed if we lost a competitive 2nd round game, but it'll make me feel "if we didn't have to play a 1 seed we would have gone further." So I wouldn't really take it as a moral victory.

The reason I want to be an 8 or 9 seed rather than a 10 seed is because we would have earned it. I want us to finish strong. I think that is important. I'd love to be the 4th seed in SEC. I'd love to finish the year with 24-25 wins. I don't want us to lose a game.

For me to say I want a 10 seed rather than an 8 seed is saying I want us to lose. I want to advance as far as we can in the tournament, duh. I don't think being a 10 seed necessarily does that.

I'm not gonna root for LSU to lose, but if you win 2/3 and a game in the sec tournament, Lsu has more than earned their spot. Obviously a 2nd round game against a top 10 ranked team is not a given, but there is a big difference between a team like oklahoma vs Virginia or Duke. I don't like moral victories, so us losing to a 1-seed and playing hard is not reassuring to me

Would you rather us lose in the 1st rd to a dangerous Michigan State team?

It's not about moral victories at all. I want LSU to continue to play good basketball. If they play themselves into a better seed than so be it. LSU could lose to anyone or beat anyone. Seems like reason enough to be perceived better than a 10 seed to me.

I'd rather a 7-seed San diego St, then play Villanova in the second round. Opposed to A&M who has Ohio State 1st round, then Kentucky 2nd
