Many people do not know that Kade was the MVP of the Louisiana State All-Star game. He was nobody, coming from nowhere. But, he hit better than anyone and he came in as a closer and won the game. Mainieri was there to watch. But, the kid from a class B school had to settle for a Community College offer. It is wonderful to see a kid like him excel and be singled out as one of the best players in the SEC. If you read the paper, his days are numbered. The anointed one is waiting to take his place. Stop reading the paper. This kid deserves better pub than that.

I'm guilty of it. I put too much in his play this fall and spring practice. Pap's as well.

I'm glad for Scivicque and LSU. Him playing so well is good for the team as well as giving Pap extra time. Nothing wrong with good depth.

Pap has great potential, no doubt, but he does not look ready just yet. His time will come. Until then, it is Sciv time.

Definitely deserving and I believe he will be a big factor in this years run. LSU is a very good team already but by the end of the year they will be more experienced and we have tons of depth and quality guys. What a job Manerie has done. He got LSU on a minor league level or it will be soon. He's got great assistants and is one of the best managers around. Can't wait to see what Kade can do as well as the rest of the guys. GT

You hit the nail on the head. Young Man hasn't had hardly any PUB since coming to LSU. The best hitter on a Top nationally ranked team but you would never know it if you weren't able to watch the games. I cant imagine what the weekend headlines would say if he was local guy.

He's the starting catcher, and I think most people realize that he's the best power-hitter LSU has.

I'm not sure what the problem is, but then, I haven't bought a newspaper in over a decade. Apparently, somebody must've said something favorable about Papierski.

Maybe we can beat Nicholls next time.

Seriously, Mainieri is doing a decent job. I can't say a great job, but a decent job.

I admit I overlooked him because of the Pap hype. I was excited for pap and failed to appreciate Scivicque as much as he deserves. The guy is a quality baseball player and I enjoy watching him play. He also reminds me of this guy for some reason

Same here. He didn't look that great in a number of the scrimmages I went too. But glad he's turned it on now that the season has started. We're going to need both guys this season.

Last year, at the midway point in the season, USA Baseball had Scivicque on its Golden Spikes watch list. He was definitely being noticed.

I stated this in an earlier thread, the national media is all over Scivicque, the local media just does not get it yet.

I think the local media knows less about this team than many of us do. I know they haven't seen them play as much as some of us have.

Sorry. I do get tired of the hype that is put in the media. Unless you are a student of the game, you only know what you read. So, what we depend on is what we read. And, I find what is written is hurtful many times. I am just enjoying and appreciating the success Kade is having and am happy that he is experiencing success. And, from the responses, we all are happy for him.
