Realize I'm really late to the party here, but I bought this one over the weekend and haven't slept a couple of nights since. Game is more fun than I've had playing in years, but I'm lost about how to go about the second half of the game.

The Nemysis system is tough to master and the online guides treat it like Advanced Physics. Anyone have some basic advice on how to handle it as far as Epic Runes and how to attack the tree? I've just gotten to Nurn and gotten the branding ability. Do you brand them, help them be promoted, and then kill them once they reach warchief status? Maybe if I was getting some sleep I could wrap my head around it

It's really all personal preference as far as how to tackle the tree. You will have a large group fight at the end of the game with all your captains against another large group of warchiefs, so make sure you have strong orcs in the warchief role to make that part easier.

Personally, I would choose and mark/dominate one of the 2nd or 3rd tier orcs, have him level up against a couple of other weaker orcs, then have him challenge a warchief in order to get promoted. You just need to make sure your guy wins the dual. My personal favorite way to do that was take out all his minions in the first few seconds, then let my team gang up on the warchief and tear him apart.

Luring them out to a dual was much faster than trying to fight them on their home turf.

Game was fun as hell, but the world needs more developing for the second game.

ETA: Collect the epic runes by having a minion you dominate go threaten the warchief (generals work to, but may not always drop epic runes). Warchiefs that you have threatened, and ultimately kill, will drop epic runes.

I never worried about Epic Runes.

Double Charge+Wraith Flash+ Wraith Burn FTW

Although near the end the epics for Shadow of Arune made me unkillable. But I don't think you need to hunt for those.

Is all this done from the Nemysis system page? Do you set the duel than run over, intervening when they start fighting? If I set one branded captain against the warchief, but another of my branded captains actually kill him while helping, does it promote the wrong captain?

Agree here. The only thing that is keepig me from calling it a 10 is that the lands are a little too similar. Each region is open field with a bad guy base.

You do all of this after getting the 20+ hit streak? When I get to button mashing, I forget whatever plans I have I just keep mashing until everyone/me is dead.

Nvm, just seeing the double charge is not a sequence, but an ability to use two special sequences back to back.

death threats are done in game when you dominate an enemy. It will give you the option to kill, Mark, or deliver a death threat.

You set up duals in the nemesis menu. And you have to trigger the dual in game, so you don't have to chase them down. You'll already be there.

And no, only your marked captain will be promoted. Not his minions.

Such a good game. I hand picked the coolest mofos I could find, then set them against other guys to make them powerful, then battle them against the warchiefs. I personally had a guy with a crossbow with explosive shots (I think), a huge guy with a big poisoned axe, a big fat guy with two swords on fire, a really high level guy (bc he kept killing me ), and a guy who's head was on fire that just cracked me up

Then at the end of the game when I went against my nemesis and his gang, we unleashed hell on them! Though the rest of the game after that battle kinda disappointed me

I'm really getting the hang of it after the advice I got yesterday. I just death threat captains at 13 or 14 bringing them to an 18 or 19. Brand a bunch of Uruks and then attack him and his gang. Weaken him enough to dominate him and boom, lvl 18 captain under my power. Send him after some low level guys afterwards and get him up to max. Just fought the great white Graug as well. Really enjoyed Torvin's character.

If they come out with another one, I may have to take off some time from work. I haven't turned it off before 1:30 am in the past 4 nights. (I'm 30 with a 3 year old, this is really late for me )

I just saw your post. Final battle against the really ugly one was cool. Against Sauron was bs but I'm getting way more than I can handle with him in Bright Lord DLC. No idea what to do when all my guys turn against me and my ring power is gone. They kill me in about 15 seconds.

Not going to say I can't see why some don't like it. I personally loved every second. Just knocked off Sauron in a much much better final showdown. It was the ending the actual story should have had.
