I know these threads pop up a lot, but I am going to surprise the wife with a trip to the Caribbean for our anniversary. It's Tuesday, so rates may be a little lower. Was looking for legit all inclusive places in the Caribbean, looking to stay 4 or 5 nights and would like to keep it in the $450 to $600 or so a night range. We aren't really looking for activities or anything, just relaxation and nice beaches and as few guidos as possible. I appreciate your recommendations.

I went to Mayan Princess or something like that in Cozumel.. they had like a buffet and food carts and shite.. I got military pricing and I don't remember what it was but I remember thinking it was reasonable and it was right on the beach.

Good topic. I was looking at Melia Carbie this morning per advice from a coworkers. It looks legit.

Punta Cana area Dominican Republic

Punta Cana is apparently the best beach area on the is-land.

Just take a cruise! You can buy the drink package (or some cruises offer it as a special included in the price) and it becomes all inclusive. Plus you get to visit more than one place. All you have to do is get yourself to the departure port and the cruise ship takes care of the rest. No worries about planes being delayed or getting bored after relaxing for too many days, lots of stuff to do on a cruise OR you can do nothing the whole time.

I just went through this process for booking a honeymoon and you're not going to find much quality in all-inclusives for Turks and Caicos.

There are a lot of nice spots on the island, but not all-inclusive.

We had our wedding at Melia Caribe two years ago. Any questions you may have I can answer.

It was good for our purposes: The wedding gazebo is the best in DR, its beautiful. We had a large party and there is lots of dining options.

However, the place is HUGE. It is two resorts that formed into one. Its so big that there is a train that takes you around. Its good for families and stuff, but I would not recommend it for a romantic get away at all. It was good for our wedding purposes, but we left and went to a different resort for our honeymoon.

The resort next door to Melia, Paradisus, is much nicer, smaller, and gives you access to Melia.

We stayed at the Zoetry for our honeymoon and that was great. The excellence is also beautiful.

IF you decide to stay at the Melia, make sure you get the premium package (I forget what its called). Well worth it.

It's some friends and I planning a trip. I don't have an SO at the moment, left her in BR back in August. One of the best worst of decisions of 2014 ha

Beaches but lots of families there.

Personally I would not stay at an AI resort on TCI. There are way too many good restaurants there to limit yourself to one resort and most are a short cab ride away.

You could stay at the Alexandra which has the Mango Reef restaurant on site and Bay Bistro is just a short walk down the beach from the Alexandra. Both are very good restaurants.

Good not as good at all inclusive, just a fact. It's not horrible or anything so if that's not important to you then fine. If it is, he'll no.
