Whatever happened to The Club? It was the rage in car security 10-15 years ago.

all you had to do was saw the steering wheel and pull the thing off.

eta: looks like the club itself was pretty weak

The club is mainly aluminum based, so any hacksaw, leverage-pipe, lock pick even a good strong violent yank will disable them. The steering wheel can be cut also using a hacksaw or a good size pair of bolt cutters, no problem.

How many car thieves are prepared to sit there and saw it off though?

Must have been enough that club went into extinction.

I think car alarms had more to do with it. Clubs went away as alarms became standard.

An 18v cordless saw would take about two seconds.

a handheld saw could cut through the steering wheel in less than 5 seconds

factory-equipped car alarms took away the temptation to try to steal cars...

that coupled with the fact that it was just inconvenient to install doomed the product, IMO....

I saw some dude driving an IROC-Z the other day with the top half of the steering wheel cut completely off. All I could think about was the club
