Nightcrawler has it all: Excellent and original story, amazing acting, edge of your seat suspense, badass car, WTF moments.

In my opinion, the most entertaining movies of the year:

1) Gone Girl
1a) Nightcrawler
2) John Wick
3) Lego Movie

To be fair, I haven't seen:

1) Whiplash
2) American Sniper
3) Imitation Game
4) Big Hero 6

Best movie I've seen this decade since Drive. John Wick was pretty awesome too reminded me of Point Blank and Payback. Haven't seen Gone Girl yet but I have it on my computer so, soon.

Of those I've only seen John Wick and The Lego Movie. I would put Edge of Tomorrow above both.

Anybody know how much weight he had to lose to play that role? He was skinny as hell.

ETA: Whiplash will be at the top of your list whenever you get around to watching it.

Loved the movie. The fact that he wasn't nominated as best actor over bradley Cooper is a real shame. Cooper was good, but I can picture any number of guys playing his role, including Jake g., however I can't imagine anyone else being able to play the role of LouisBloom quite like gyllenhaal did.

I did an even larger neo-noir/thriller list going all the way back to the 60's on here a few years ago. I'll have to do a search and see if I can find it.

If not I can always make a new one.

It was a shite story, but Gyllenhaal killed it and completely made the movie everything it is. I agree it was an awesome movie.

Really impossible to let so much shite go in order to make the movie work. The fact that he committed so many crimes and no one batted an eye. Jake G was good in the role but the movie just wasn't very good. His interaction with the female was the best part of the movie and the way he went about it was great. The rest of the movie, the severe plot holes, the gross misconduct of the character being a completely overlooked criminal just made the entire thing hard to fathom. It was a one time watch for me. I thought he made a terrible film watchable.

Everyone who said this movie is good: are you trolling? Just watched this thing, because the M/TV board praised it and it was a pretty big piece of predictable crap.

The people who say this movie was terrible are textbook trolls and the book is shiny.
