Monty Williams said Tyreke was sick all day and played through it. Credited his toughness. #Pelicans

The guy is out there every night. Pels would be an unmitigated disaster without him.

Agreed his hero ball drives me crazy but at the same time if it was not for him we would not have a chance right now

Not sure what his other option was. The other 4 guys just got out of the way. No pick and roll, no off the ball screens.

The play was Reke on a clear out. The defender was playing way off not giving him an easy path to the rim. The question is did Reke "call" for the clear out or did Monty?

The play before was a great play by Reke.

Monty called it, or at least let it happen. Ajinca was sitting on the baseline the whole time. I kept waiting for him to come set a pick and he never moved. How you (Monty) can think a Tyreke step back jumper is better than a Tyreke Pick and Roll is baffling.

It's the safe call there ATL. You run down at least 20 seconds and guarantee a chance to get set on defense. You know he's not turning it over (which is part of why I think Monty goes to him constantly). I disagree with the philosophy, but you can tell that Monty really doesn't care if he scores there cause he has the lead.

It's funny to me seeing people rag on Reke for that shot cause I agree with you. What proof do people need at this point to think it's not Evans going rogue late?

We run the same pick and roll/pop, elevators, offense that the majority of the league runs. Our offense is way more structured than a lot of the league, though thats not always a good thing.

Tyreke "hero ball" is only "hero ball" when he takes a bad step back jumper with the game on the line.

When he drives to rim in those situations, like he did the possession before, good things almost always happen. Tyreke layups, put backs when the defense collapses, dump offs to the bigs, kick outs for 3s.
