It would suck to watch Pels games without him but let's be realistic: OKC has won two games out of the ASB and really improved their interior with the Kanter trade. If Durant gets healthy they are probably 90-10 to get the 8th seed at a minimum. We thought the Clips might slip some with Griffin being out but they are also 2-0 out of the break. Even if the Pels secured the 8th seed we don't really match up with GS very well and it would be the upset of the century if we won that series.

AD is this franchise and one of the superstars in this league. Why risk further damage to his shooting shoulder? Why bring him back too quickly for a long shot at a playoff spot and a likely first round bounce?

Why shut him down for an injury that doesn't require that long? That is beyond stupid. He just has a shoulder sprain (as of now) and it is probably a grade 1 or 2 and those heal on there own with RICES (rest, ice, compression, and elvation or immobilization). Depending on the results of the mri, x-ray, ct, etc they should shut him down for a week to 10 days IMO, but I am just spitballing since I do not have access to the test results.

OK, fine. Here's why I think that. The Pels are in playoff contention, in a year where at least slipping into the postseason is vital to possibly keeping AD here past the 1st/2nd contract in the first place. He's young and as long as his injury isn't definitely season ending, I'd try and at least prove to your players you mean business. True they can win without him but I could see the team folding like a chair if they shut him down.

Unless it's part of some strategy to fire Monty. Then I'd be all in.

no unless it is something that could cause further damage.

Plus if you shut AD down, then Monty will have more job security bc they will say we missed the playoff bc we did not have AD

This just doesn't seem like the type of injury that gives me long term concerns. It's his shoulder, not his knee.

This is probably the best reason for AD to come back, to prevent any Monty excuses.
