It wasn't done yet. You should have stewed it down after boiling it to make it tender

I've made many with dove, squirrel, rabbit etc. Just didn't put a whole lotta thought into this

One of the first things I ever cooked was boiled squirrel. I was about 8. I agree that boiled squirrel in not very good. I image boiled a squirrel sammich wouldn't be too good either..
