I can think of one situation when there was a ball that should have been caught at the track and was a home run. It was for Kansas though.

they seem to be swinging the bats better. probably because javi is gone though.

Noticeable is the key word though. Nobody will truly know because it was hit with new ball not old obviously

During the SECN+ broadcast they brought up the numbers by conference from the first weekend of games this year to last year. Home runs were basically double this year to last year in the SEC, ACC, and Pac. Also, average total runs per game (both teams) was up from 10.5 to 11.5 or so.

SEC network just posted stat overnight that hits are up 39% and runs up 29%... nothing on HR's

Line drives in the gap seem to be getting through to the fence quicker. Whereas before the fielder would keep it in front of them.

Hrs are up around 50%.
So yeah it's noticeable.

Georgia hit five out of the park opening day has seven through its first five games. There is a increase in home runs around the country. The new balls may not be as evident to someone watching LSU this year due to a lack of overall team power.

Some of you must not know about the game last night. LSU had several hits for extra bases. At one point, we has six hits, and five were better than singles. We finished with six extra base hits out of eight total.

Didn't affect Lange's breaking ball, that's for sure. Kid might be Nola good.

Made a 300 mile trip to Baton Rouge to watch both games with a Boston College grad.
The extra base hits are not necessarily attributed directly to the new balls. Foster's triple was misplayed by the leftfielder. Chinea's double was a blop that fell in the perfect place that allowed him to take two bases.

The home runs being hit are traveling slightly further. With the old balls, no matter how hard it was crushed, almost every single home run ball would start to die on its way down and barely creep over the fence.
Seeing more balls get to the back rows of the bleachers. I suspect a few more of those will end up in the bullpen at Omaha.

Until they bring the fences in in Omaha it's a black hole for offense

If the baseballs travel further, then the fences are easier to reach ... It leads to the same end game.
