My "It's 5 0'clock Somewhere" thread was whacked. Why? It's intended to be a Friday afternoon discussion thread about cocktails, beer, wine, etc. What's wrong with that?

I honestly think the beer thread gets a pass because it consolidates some of the dumbassery that would otherwise occur. Keep it contained. When you've got 8-10 posters on 10BD, their post quality is going to diminish greatly as well as their inhibitions about posting in other threads.
That being said, the bourbon guys do a great job with their thread. I dunno, it might be worth exploring a cocktail thread. I feel like admins should at least give it a shot. If it works out it could be a good thing. If it doesn't, well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Right?
