Are there any software program suggestions that are similar to Excel for estimating, etc.
Or is it just that Excel is the way to go?
Suggestions from people who have practical experience with their particular software program please.

Are you using Excel currently? If so, what would you like it to do that you don't have it set up to do?
Are you using any accounting software like quickbooks?

I am using Excel and Quickbooks....but I know there are some programs that have their own material and labor data basis (that update - like every qtr). I could create my own data base and update but I guess I'm lazy arse.
Hoping someone had experience with a program they liked and could recommend.

You are usually going to pay a lot for one that updates cost data. Even the ones with databases that you update manually cost a good bit. Is RS Means data good enough?

XactRemodel uses the same data/cost as Xactimate which is the version the insurance company & adjusters use.
