Can I use my card for dental expenses? I think I read yes but would like some backup.

If I accidentally used my HSA for something not allowed, what would happen? Does the IRS know or would it come up only in an audit?
That brings up another question...am I supposed to save all receipts for purchases made from the HSA?

I no longer am HSA eligible because I don't have a HDHP, but I'm assuming there is no issue with using it on costs now, just that I can't contribute any longer.

TIA

Dental yes - if you are audited you have to be able to prove you spent it on eligible medical expenses. I didn't keep all my receipts but I kept an electronic register in excel, and I had to use it a couple years ago to prove medical expenses.

Thanks

I am not good at keeping records/receipts. It all seems so archaic.

Get a folder in a file box and just drop all your medical expenses in it.

I've been audited twice for my hsa expenditures.
