What are the Pros and cons?
I am just about sick of Cox.

What bothers you about Cox?
I have no issues, and the Internet speed is great. Price creep is a pain in the arse, but it's gonna happen.

I had U-Verse for about a year.
The equipment was awful. We sent back multiple boxes and multiple modems because they kept going to shite.
The service, at least in my area, was really bad. It could be gorgeous outside and it would go out. It was even more noticeable on the weekends since I was at home more.
It's "cheap" for the first 6 months, then you have to reenroll or you will be charged $250/month. Even during the first 6 months of the deal, they tell you it's $98, but you get your bill and there's a charge for this, a charge for that, a charge for the other charges, and the bill fluctuates from $125 to $150 a month.
Personally, I think the company sucks. Their product is shite and I have better things to spend my money on.
I hope that helps.

Internet, tv or both?
Cox is better on internet considering you can get twice the speed for roughly the same price between the two. I rarely had issues with Uverse but when I did I stayed on their arse until I got a reliable signal with advertised speeds but when I went to up from 24 they didn't offer anything faster. I ended up switching to Cox for the same price with 50 download speed and basic TV.
It's been a long time since I had a high level of Cox programming but I preferred Uverse's equipment because it was newer. They all are very expensive as far as I'm concerned and where they get you is "extra" services (HD, DVR, etc.) and equipment rentals.

Cox does that same crap... I just had to switch from uverse to cox due to a move. I can't tell you how much i miss uverse. It was so much cheaper and great performance. The only pro about cox is the internet speed. Cox is making me seriously consider dropping cable

I cut the cord anyways. I'm done with that garbage.

I am looking at comparable service from uverse that is 80 bucks less per month than cox With a 12 month discount. After discounts expire its still 30 bucks less.
I dont put a lot of stress on my internet....occasionally use netflix and shite.
I am in a good part of BR so i am hoping they have good service here.
The house actually had uverse before i moved in.
Eta: i imagine when the 12 months are up i van tell them to give me a new disount or i will cancel

I would still be with U-Verse if it weren't so spotty in my area. Having your internet/tv go down for 6 hours on college football Saturday just wasn't worth the price they gave me.

Oh, but their equipment is shite. I kid you not, they replaced my tv box and modem at least 3 or 4 times each.

I am one of the biggest supporters of U-verse. I don't care about the costs as long as it delivers a good product. U-verse's TV is leaps above Cox. U-verse's equipment has never failed me, even with one box being stored outside in a non-climate controlled environment. U-verse's service is impeccable. They will come out and fix anything and deliver anything if needed. With Cox, it seemed like I was always going to their service center.
I have had very few service interruptions. I have noting bad to say about U-verse. It's been a while, but I can recall being fed up with the service at cox.

Cox Internet and DirecTV for TV is a fantastic combo I enjoy.

My Uverse works great. Price is much better than Cox. Always had good customer service both when I call and when techs come out. Techs have always been on time. My internet speeds are ~20% faster than what I pay for.
Cox can DIAF.

I'm comparing apples to apples and with tv/Internet/phone bundles.

They probably got stuff working right the first time, huh? It took 5 different Cox technicians to get my whole home dvr working...The last time I finally spoke with someone who cared and she actually had official Cox installers come instead of the foreign born contract workers from New York.

U-verse Internet: Price incl. 250 GB of data/mo. Add ’l $10 charge per 50 GB of data usage in excess of data plan. For more info, go to www.att.com/internet-usage.
AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet service requires AT&T Wi-Fi Gateway. Up to $99 installation charge applies.
This scares me.
