I've got a plasma TV that just gave up the ghost and have the DirecTV protection plan and wanted to know if there was anything special I needed to know about calling them and filing a claim.

What was your experience? How quick were they to fix/replace the TV? Did you still have your TV hooked up?

All of my TVs, Laptops, Server, PCs, Receivers have been registered with them for over 6 months now.

And yes, I searched and found one entry but nothing regarding the experience.

Thanks.

Didn't buy the protection plan but I'm waiting for a receiver to arrive that went to shice on me over the weekend. Cost me $20 plus tax.

Just curious why would directv cover your tv?

Google shows some sort of premier plan, but it has a ton of restrictions and even a deductible. Good luck when they determine fair market value.

I doubt they actually try to repair anything.

DirecTV has 2 protection plans. The basic one covers your DirecTV equipment and wiring only if memory serves me correctly.

The Premier plan costs $20 a month and according to their TS as well as their website, it covers almost all of your electronics, i.e. TVs, Receivers, Laptops, PCs, as long as you register them. According to their protection plan website, DirecTV Premier Protection Plan they ask for a model number and either repair or replace the broken devices and I think a $50 fee per device.

I'll update once I've gotten the process completed.

I absolutely love it. I've filed 3 claims in the last year, zero trouble. $50 deductible.

I have TONS of stuff covered.

You just add what you need online. There's a 6k per year max in claim payout. They guarantee your item repaired, or they'll replace it.

Why would you need to cover their equipment?

I know. I'm not. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean. PPP allows me to cover all of my equipment for one $24 monthly fee. I've got all my tvs, laptops, iPads, android tablets, sound bar, surround sound system, blu Ray players, Logitech remotes, etc.

Yeah for the the DTV equipment only. I think it's BS they say free equipment upgrade every 2 years. Just cancel after 2 years then renew and get new stuff.

Thanks for the reply, how was the process for replacing/repairing? Did they give you a choice as to which one? How was the repair process? Are you happy with the replacements?

I've got a ton of equipment covered/registered as well and have a TV that is older but was a top of the line at the time I bought it. Just curious about your results.
