Maryland v. Michigan State do people watch regular season women's college basketball?

This game is on ESPN2 now. I can't for the life of me figure out who in the hell is watching and does ESPN actually make money off of games like this?
I mean there are diehard Michigan State and Maryland fans who would watch, but the Big Ten Network has a show on about Michigan basketball and no live game. You would figure the BTN would show this and ESPN2 would pass on Maryland v. MSU women's hoops.
Am I missing something here?

I'm not totally misogynistic about this. I'd watch uconn or Baylor from a few years ago or pat summit Tennessee or something. But Maryland-Michigan state regular season? Wow

Because it is regular season. I am fine with women's college basketball. I just don't watch it and I figure the typical ESPN2 viewer sure as hell doesn't watch it.
There's a lot more drama during the tournament and I mean what's the appeal of women's hoops? I get a lot of people like it but I mean it's a niche audience and a lot of women I know prefer the mens' game.
Though I have co-worker who I think is warping her son by taking him to WNBA games and supposedly it's his favorite.

I've watched women's basketball, and I've read this thread. Watching women's basketball is way better.

I get suckered into watching the last few minutes of ulm women's games sometimes if they're playing before the men. My god its awful.

This is honestly not the worst of women's games to televise
Maryland has been a excellent program under Brenda Frease. They did win a title in 2006 and were usually competitive in the ACC. They still look good in the BIG as most expected them to be
MSU on the other hand is simply not where it once was since Joanne P. McCallie took the Duke job. They were once in the title game in 2005, and were pretty consistent at the time.
