TV model designations are confusing.

I agree. Why not give it a real name? The LG ClearSky or the LG Diamond. shite, anything.

I'm sure there is one, it's a 55", whatever LB stands for and then the model 5900.

I've had it since this past September... Pretty good TV and picture. Only thing that annoys me at times is only 2 HDMI ports, still need to pick up a splitter. I also purchased the LG sound bar with it. An extra source of speakers is needed if you like your movies, sports, etc loud like I do.

Overall it's not a bad TV. Ton's of tweaks for the picture in LG's menus

This is one reason I went with this TV. I already have an LG sound bar and I can't use it because my Directv box doesn't have the Optical port and my current TV does not have an optical port either.

Thanks for the info. How is it with sports? Is the refresh rate good enough where i'm not going to see a trail behind the ball?

Yeah I have my sound bar plugged with optical straight to the TV and the bar detects it automatically and such, sounds great.

Sports looks great with no issues. They have motion clarity index for this model, so it helps with that. I have played video games on it a couple of times as well, also no issues. It had great reviews for the picture, for a mid-range priced TV, which is why I jumped on this one, and I haven't been let down by it yet.

So you want our opinion after you purchased it?

Good TV, especially for the price. It won't be mistaken for a high end TV but if you don't care then it will do.

I have the 50" model of that exact TV, and it's a fantastic value. Hope you don't have a need for more than two HDMIs though or you'll need a separate splitter device of some sort.

Luckily for this TV I will only need 2 HDMI ports. One for DirecTV and the other for Apple Tv. My downstairs TV has the XB1 and DirecTV as well so i'll be good on the ports.

Thanks for the input guys.

I have the 47" and like it. Like someone said before, there's plenty of tweaks in the menu. I have a Klipsch soundbar paired via optical and it's a pretty stout little setup. Great value
