Can anyone tell me where he is now and what is he doing.
Searched online ...

I also remember reading that Mahmoud Abdul Rauf participated in the last LSU Basketball reunion with so many former players and, of course, Coach Brown.

It is very interesting that Dale Brown is the one who introduced Chris Jackson to Islam. He gave him a copy of Malcom X's biography. Jackson was the greatest I have seen. His play was miraculous to me and beautiful. His dedication to training as a 9 year old though college was phenomenal.

My favorite lsu player ever.

You mean minus the high-flying dunks, the reverse double pump layups, the up and under moves, etc? CJ was more like Iverson, almost nothing like MJ, without even thinking about it.
In a game back in '89, the Sportscenter highlight of the day was Jackson throwing down a two-handed dunk in the face of a 7' center for Auburn; named Geiger or something like that. He had virtually all of the moves you attribute to Jordan. As earlier posters mentioned, he was the master of getting to the hoop on fast-breaks; if he didn't decide to stop and drain a 3.

If we're being objective, he blew as many leads as anyone EVAR. He, like all LSU teams historically, didn't quite understand to work the shot clock when you have a lead late in the game. Up 9 with 90 seconds left, cross half court thru the legs crossover deep 3 attempt... with 35 secs on shot clock.
He was certainly amazing to watch though.

He was good no doubt... But the best ever was The Pistol !

"Dude was Pete M good"
That would be a big no. He was a great player but was not quite in Pete's category.

Shaq to Roberts to Jackson for the goal... with Vernel Singleton trailing.
Damn I lived at a great time in history.

Or stop and drain a 10 footer. Or 15 footer.
Jackson was unreal.
The thing that stood out to me the most is that the ball almost seemed glued to his hands... he had great hands. Around the back, stutter step, catch it in traffic, no-look stuff... he just never bobbled the ball.

Who remembers his defense.
No one!
But when you trade 2 for 3, it usually didn't matter.
He led the SEC in steals one year

I wish someone had videos of randy Livingston while he was at Newman. Dude was the truth.

Agree with you 100%. Jackson was great. He is the antithesis of Josh Gray. The queazy feeling that I get when Josh Gray has the ball is the exact opposite of the feeling I would have when CJ had the ball. But he was nowhere in Maravich's class. CJ averaged somwhere around 30 ppg for 2 years while at LSU and that was with a 3 pt line. Pete averaged 44 ppg over a 3-year LSU career without one. They were both remarkably consistent with their scoring average being within a point or 2 of their career average every year. Pete's career college scoring records will never be touched.

I think Chris Jackson holds the highest scoring average for a freshmen in NCAA history.

That is because freshmen were not eligible to play varsity ball when Maravich was in college.

Such a shame he blew his knee out.

I had Chris and Stanley Roberts in my remedial reading class. Chris was quiet and not very personable. Stanley was a cool dude. There was only 6 of us in the class. Basement in Allen Hall.

Damn you. I opened that link and then went in a 30 minute binge of Chris/mahmoud highlights...

Chris suffered really bad from Tourette's Syndrome when he was at LSU...the SEC officials were told to ignore anything that he might yell or say during the game..even in the NBA he would tie his shoes over and over till he felt comfortable...he would walk through a door many times until he felt he did it right...a lot of hangups back then...
