Softball team off to a great start!

So... I realize that there aren't a ton of you who care, but the softball team this year is really good. They are loaded with the best pitching staff since Britni Sneed. Biaka Bell is off to a hot start and has 5 homers in 10 games. They have a talented group of freshmen and Beth has done a great job putting girls in the right spots. This coukd be a year where we compete for a national title.

Next weekend is big. If they can get through those 5 unscathed they should be 22-0 for the start of conference play. Nebraska and Northwestern are struggling so far. Arizona will be a test but who knows what they'll do outside of the bandbox they play in. Their home/road splits were extreme last year.

I would say that Fico/Mack was a darn good pitching staff too --World Series appearance. But this staff could be very special. I can't wait to go out and take a little vacation in Palm Springs this weekend to see the Tigers play!

This team was the best team last year talent wise in the tournament imo but were just young and I knew this year although still kinda young would be one hellava team. I promise you no one wants any of this team. If they get hot look out and I think they take it all if they can get hot and stay hot. Their offense is rediculous too!!! GLT

And the talent Beth continues to bring in is unreal. The 2015 & 2016 classes are absolutely loaded.

Summary of the 10-0 start:
Outscored the opponents 63-8..and there have been some good teams. They have 2 wins over Notre Dame, who was ranked #20. They beat NC State twice last week, who went to a regional last year. Hofstra is a pretty good program also, and we have beaten them twice.
Team BA is .346. Opponents only hit .164
Team ERA is 0.86
Bianka Bell is hitting .515 with 5 HR and 16 RBI
The pitchers who pitched last year are pitching very well and cut down on their walks A LOT.
Freshman pitcher Allie Walljasper has given up just 1 run in 23 IP (0.30 ERA)
