Glad this was Los Angeles and not La.

Why would anyone on a Louisiana based website think otherwise? Dumb.

Perhaps you should reach out to the Asian market brah, you're leaving $ on the table.

I've eaten it several times. If the musk gland is removed and it is cooked down for a long time it's not bad. Musk gland left in and it is nasty.
Plank Road just next to Kelly's Meat Market on Saturday mornings. Buy all you want but make sure it has one hoof on it. This shows it is a coon not a dog.
Try it you might like it. Better than opposum.

Sold hundreds in past years before the fur trade crashed.
$5 small
$6Med
$7 large.
Oh, used to sell some to a couple supermarkets too. It's legal to sell in Louisiana.

Sometimes we catch them in hog traps and a gentleman of color comes to pick them up. He'll take any and all that we catch.

Then why eat it? I can understand if you said something like how tender it is or the taste is better than beef/chicken..but frick that! Why would you go out of your way to eat coon if its just ok?

I don't see why everyone turns their nose up. I've only eaten them a few times, not a regular rotation in my diet but they won't kill you. Had opposum 2 times. Hell I kill and eat squirrels and have since I was a kid. People all over the south eat them

sell the hides separate
8bucks for hide
six for the meat
I haven't set a trap this year, though so I don't know what a hide will bring.
