Well if you look back, a lot of these guys out of new orleans came in with huge influence from Frank doing tons of recruiting. Raymond has a great reputation so that works to his advantage. I just think he's gotten a little bit more praise on the recruiting aspect than maybe he's warranted and I am not saying he's bad.

True, but he has done a great job in Fla. Raymond, like Henry, seems to be the perfect mix of great recruiter and coach. Hopefully we get someone equally as good

Interviewed Tony Ball on Wednesday

quote:

If the Tigers extend an offer, Ball would strongly consider accepting the position, sources said.

Raymond is a very good to outstanding recruiter. He fricking kills it in FL. He misses on some but that's gonna happen in FL. Those kids are crazy with the recruiting process and have so many options for a school. He also has a hand in every db we get and are strongly in the running for. Any coach that can drudge through the FL slime and make waves with kids there deserves all kinds of respect. Different world there in recruiting. I wouldn't put him quite in the level of Frank or Orgeron but not many are. Even those 2 lose out on kids, even kids in their backyard in Wilson's case. Doesn't mean he's not a great and well respected recruiter.

From the Georgia board:

quote:

I’m perfectly okay with this. Ball is a good coach, but a liability recruiting. I know LF is going to love him, because CTB WR's will be blockers first and foremost.

quote:

Not a big deal. Ball is a liability in recruiting as he consistently misses getting the states best receivers. Also he's too strict with his receivers. Sometimes you just need to put an athlete out there and let him catch the damn ball and make plays. Who knows what what would've happened had rumph gotten more snaps. Who cares if his routes aren't crisp, toss the ball out there and let them go for it sometimes. We need more of that at georgia.

A bunch of Twitter buzz from signees- Coach Ball leaving

Fans will always twist the hire like that.

Nick Saban could leave Bama tommorow and they would probably be like "we've got Lane Kiffen, he's the real key. Saban has always been just a recruiter and that's it. Bama will be better without him, we need fresh blood"

It's natural fandom logic. Sometimes they're right and sometimes they're wrong. But I wouldn't base my opinion of a coach on the thoughts of messAge board posters

Jimmy posted on Facebook that LSU is interviewing Keenan McCardell (Maryland's current WR coach .) I think he'd be a great hire with his NFL experience and being from Houston always helps in recruiting .

Most of the time buyouts are 15% of the remaining salary due over the length of the contract.
